A former Love Island star who quit the show back in 2022 has hinted at a return after the line-up for the latest series was announced on Monday.

As contestants for series 11 of the show were confirmed, one former Islander decided to comment on the announcement, hinting at a return.

The new season is set to air on Monday June 3, with a new group of singletons looking for love in Mallorca.

It seems that one star is desperate to return as well, after they were included in the initial cast list.

Following confirmation that Ciaran Davies, 21, a surveyor from Pencoed, south Wales, would be heading into the villa this summer, one previous contestant revealed how much they had missed Casa Amor.

The individual who appeared to be gutted to miss out was series eight star Jacques O'Neill, who wrote in reply to Love Island's post: 'Ffs get me back in there.'

Fans seemed eager for Jacques to make a return to their screens as well, urging him to go back to the villa, with messages of encouragement which read: 'Please go back'.

'We need you back',

'Please get back in there'

'Yes please!'

A rugby player by profession, Jacques rose to fame on the eighth series of the show, during which he paired up with Paige Thorne.

Should Jacques make a shock return to the show, it would not be the first time past Islanders have returned as bombshells.

2018 star Adam Collard made a surprise return in during the series that Jacques originally featured in, back in 2022.

Paige was an original Islander during that season, where she almost reached the finale before being dumped from the villa and paving the way for eventual winners Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu to come out victorious.

Jacques entered the villa as a bombshell on day seven - only to quit the series voluntarily 30 days later in order to protect his mental health.

After Jacques' departure, Paige coupled up with controversial star Adam after his unexpected return as a bombshell.
